Directly across from Anchorage is Torrent Bay with the largest concentration of privately owned beach houses, or baches to locals, in the Park.

If a local tells you in a lofty tone they “heading up the Bay for the weekend” then they will invariably be talking about Torrent Bay.  Because some of the local bach owners are very protective of little slice of paradise there are special restrictions for the drop-off of passengers by water taxi operators.  Drop-offs can only be made before noon each day, and there can be no passenger pick-ups at all.
